Dua Lipa's Pink Checkerboard Nails Are So Fun for Summer

Dua Lipa is the epitome of a modern day pop girly. She delivers hit after hit, all while jetsetting across the world for tours (or vacations) with an enviable personal style that's equal parts grungy and glittery. And, she does all of this with a great manicure intact. From aura manicures to minimalist moody nails, Lipa continues to situate herself as a nail muse, and her latest look is the perfect inspiration for summer.

For those not familiar, Lipa is about to set off on her Radical Optimism tour, and on May 28th, the singer announced new Asia tour dates on Instagram. "Asia in November it's been a long time coming and I can't wait to be back!!!!" wrote the 28-year-old. Lipa's slideshow featured photos of the star exploring cities and posing in front of landmarks, but the close-up photo of her cool checkered manicure caught our eye.

Although Lipa's colorful checkerboard mani is an older photo, her nails matched the star's current playful era. They featured a long almond-shape and each nail alternated between a sky blue and hot pink shade of polish. The sheen in the photo makes us believe that the nails were dusted with chrome powder before applying the black checker print. The checker print pattern featured graphic black squares on the nails.

The "Future Nostalgia" singer's nail are a cool change of pace from the current chrome and French manicure trends. They also feel like an extension of the star's bold style.

In another photo, Lipa is posing outside of the Tokyo Tower in Japan, wearing a blazer with a button-up and tie, putting her spin on the office siren aesthetic. Of course, you can't miss the singer's signature crimson hair.

Fans were clearly excited with the tour announcement. One commented "Looks like I’ll be spending Thanksgiving in Bangkok," with others asking when European and American tour dates will be released. With the start date only a week away, we'll be eagerly anticipating Lipa's tour glam.
