Megan the Stallion's Extra-Long Chrome Nails Were Made for Summer Nights Out

At this point, Megan Thee Stallion needs a coffee table book to capture all of her most iconic outfits, hair changes, and nails. This past week alone, the star tried orange creamsicle hair and spiky blue bangs. Meg's ability to shapeshift into any aesthetic doesn't go unnoticed (it's practically our job to pay attention), but so far, she has yet to make any drastic hair changes this week. However, just after announcing her new album and performing at the BET Awards, the singer debuted a cool new manicure on Instagram.

If you aren't familiar, Megan is having a Hot (successful) Girl Summer. To explain, not only is she currently touring across the U.S. but over the weekend she dropped her new self-titled album, Megan, and she also performed at the BET Awards. "Waittt I have so many cute pictures from this weekend," shared the 29-year-old on Instagram on July 1. In the photos, Meg wears a sharp rainbow chrome mani that made us do a double take.

In the first slide, the rapper is taking a mirror selfie, perfectly showing off her stiletto-shaped manicure. The sharp nails have an extra pointy tip and it looks as though she's painted on a green polish and added a layer of chrome powder. But, in a flash photo of her nails on another slide, the light reflects a magenta shade, illustrating the chrome's optical illusion effect.

Her glam in the selfie is minimal and fun—she's wearing a layer of glitter on her lash line paired with a shimmery, bronzy eyeshadow. Her cheeks look flushed with blush, and she's wearing a pink lip gloss. Her natural curls were on display, parted to the side and tied into a loose hair kerchief.

Chrome nails will always be trendy (even among minimalist manicures), yet, more recently celebrities like Megan have been opting for extra long nail lengths. Selena Gomez wore a long naked French manicure on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week, and Cardi B wore extra-long soft pink rosebud nails to the Marc Jacobs show. Meg confirms that long nails for summer are officially it.
