No your eyes aren't deceiving you—that's not Cher, it's Halsey. The 29-year-old looked like she stepped out of a time machine from the '80s on the red carpet, wearing voluminous curls and a sequined gold outfit with a shimmery airbrush manicure to match.
On June 24, Halsey arrived at A24's MAXXXINE premiere in Los Angeles along with co-stars Lily Collins and Mia Goth. The movie, which takes place in Hollywood during the '80s, inspired much of the cast's red-carpet looks, including Halsey's. The actor dressed in a gold bra with a matching skirt detailed with exaggerated hip cut-outs from Bronx and Banco, but the true star of her outfit was her airbrushed, Hollywood star-adorned nails.
Manicurist Natalie Minerva crafted the multi-hyphenate's manicure on her natural almond-shaped nails. She started by prepping the nails with OPI's Natural Nail Base Coat, and then went in with two coats of OPI's I Mica Be Dreaming Nail Lacquer to add the base layer of shine. Next, Minvera recommends laying down star-shaped stencil stickers after the shimmer polish dries. To achieve the star detail, she dabbed OPI's Black Onyx Nail Lacquer onto the stencils using a makeup sponge. Minerva lifted the stencils off and tied the look together with a layer of OPI's Top Coat.
Halsey swapped her hot-pink hair for voluminous '80s curls, courtesy of hairstylist Marty Harper. Her ringlets cascaded down her hair and rested just below her shoulders. Of course, she used her brand About Face Beauty to craft her makeup look for the night. Her complexion was sculpted with bronzer on her cheeks and forehead, with her eye makeup being the centerpiece of her look. The MAXXXINE actress wore a canary yellow eyeshadow across her lid, smoked with an orange shade in the crease. Her eyeshadow was complimented by a black-winged cat-eye eyeliner and wispy black lashes. She finished the look with a nude lip gloss.
