Paris Couture Week kicked off on Sunday, and as always, there's been a handful of chic celeb sightings. Rihanna made the case for bringing back chunky Y2K highlights at A$AP Rocky's collection, Sabrina Carpenter walked the Vogue World runway, and Joey King debuted a new shade of blonde. The latest celeb to have their Paris moment is Kerry Washington, who wore a fitting manicure for the occasion.
Washington posted her outfit for the Chanel show on Instagram—she dressed accordingly in a tweed two-piece set and beehive updo paired with, you guessed it, a classic French manicure. Sophisticated, minimal manicures are having a moment, and Washington's perfect French mani is no different.
When in France, do as the Parisians: Washington's manicure was the quintessential no-fuss French manicure. Her "squoval"—or square-oval—nails were slightly rounded at the edges, had a pink base, and were topped with white tips.
The Scandal actor's nail design paired so well with her preppy suit set and beehive updo. She worked with hairstylist James Catalano to achieve the pinned-up style which saw her natural curls wrapped in a bun with a swooping side bang. Makeup artist Kenneth Soh crafted a smoky eye look with lots of black eyeshadow and eyeliner covering her eyelids. Her rosy pink cheeks and lip gloss juxtaposed the dark eye for a balanced glam.
For the Balenciaga show, Washington's outfit put an edgy spin on business casual—typical for the brand which likes to play with exaggerated proportions and shapes. The 47-year-old wore a black turtleneck that featured puffy shoulder pads. She styled it with a sleek croc-effect pencil skirt with black pumps. Her glam was giving office siren: Washington slicked her hair back and opted for a softer complexion with the addition of a sharp cat-eye.
