Ayo Edebiri's recent manicures give the phrase "a work of art" a whole new meaning. At the Met Gala, Edebiri paired her blooming blush with an ethereal fairy garden manicure detailed with 3D flowers. For her Inside Out 2 premiere look, the actor wore a custom baby blue Bottega Veneta short suit with rainbow glass nails. Her latest watercolor-inspired manicure keeps the art theme going, and if you asked us, it belongs in the Louvre.
The 28-year-old arrived at the The Bear season three premiere in Los Angeles alongside co-stars Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, wearing a stunning floral Loewe gown. If you couldn't already guess, she paired it with a pretty manicure that looked like mixed watercolor paints on a palette.
Crafted by manicurist Eri Ishizu (who also created her previous nail looks), Edebiri's manicure was painted onto her natural nails—proof that you don't need super long nails for an intricate nail design. Summer 2024's coolest color trends, like butter yellow and pastel pink inspired the nail look, which began with a top coat of OPI's GelColor Stay Classic Base Coat.
To create the marbled, messy paint design, Ishizu mixed OPI's Gel Polish in the shades in Lookin' Cute-icle and Without a Pout. Next, she added OPI's Velvet Vision in Mauvnetic Poles, and used a magnetic stick to create the shimmery "velvet" texture. She painted on finishing details using OPI's Work from Chrome and crafted the water droplets by dripping on OPI's GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat.
For glam, Edebiri wore her hair pulled back in a princessy half-updo with the rest of her hair styled in soft waves that rested on her back, courtesy of hairstylist Miles Jeffries. MUA Ernesto Casillas helped craft the actor's soft-glam makeup look. She wore spidery black lashes with a pink shimmery eyeshadow applied across her eyelids. Her pink blush was placed on the apples of her cheek and paired with a pink lip gloss.
Edebiri was dressed with the help of stylist Danielle Goldberg, and paired her dress with white strappy heels and colorful gemstone jewelry.
We'll be here, admiring her nails for the rest of the day. Although the style is intricate, Ishizu's breakdown makes the possibility of re-creating the look at home a possibility.
