Kim Kardashian has been at the forefront of beauty trends for as long as we can remember. From shiny brunette blowouts to bronde layers to a pink bob, the OG influencer is constantly changing up her look. Lately, she’s channeled her inner rockstar girlfriend with long, lived-in, icy platinum blonde hair often styled in a messy middle part. However, her latest look is a total switch-up.

In an Instagram post on June 26, Kardashian shared a slew of photos from a shoot with Michael Bailey Gates, a New York-based editorial photographer. In the first carousel, she wore a leopard print two-piece swimsuit with a short, layered Marilyn Monroe-esque haircut. This time, her hair was bleached blonde to the root with a warmer tone compared to her usual cool-blonde look. The short strands were curled and styled in a messy, flipped-over part.

In the posts that followed, she styled the hair with several different looks including a medium length golden fur coat, an oversized suit and tie, a long fur trench with knee high boots, and a beaded “naked” dress. She switched between the messy, curly hair and a sleek middle-parted '70s blow out look. Chris Appelton is the stylist responsible for Kim’s blonde era, and he shared his favorites from the Modern Marilyn shoot on Instagram. “Love this shoot,” he wrote in his caption. “Kim & I have been talking about doing this look for the longest time. Definitely a favorite.”

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star tapped Soki Mak, for the retro style creative direction and styling, and Kali Kennedy for her glam. Kardashian knows how to keep fans guessing. The photoshoot came after her Instagram posts made headlines throughout the week for her "cream dream" icy hair and woven braids. Old money, warm toned blonde has been the “It" color of the summer and Kim has officially given her stamp of approval.
