The trend of matching your manicure to your outfit is strong these days amongst the celeb set. Beyoncé matched a nude mani to her outfit and hair, and Bella Hadid matched her latte nails with a sheer YSL dress of the same shade at Cannes. But, you don't always have to go monochrome to match your nails to your outfit—take it from Dakota Johnson.
Johnson has been everywhere lately—she's been filming her new show Materalists, and her costumes have a similar chic vibe to her everyday style. On June 10, the actor arrived at the Daddio premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, and she joined the matching manicure brigade. This time, she put a figurative twist on the matching mani, opting for a "naked" manicure to go with her naked Gucci dress.
Did her sheer blue dress match her nude nails? Well, in spirit, yes. Her pared-back mani was as simple as a swipe of nude polish and a glossy top coat on her natural nails. They were nothing extraordinary, and it almost looked like she wasn't wearing any polish at all. Yet, they felt sophisticated, which was the same vibe as her Gucci Fall / Winter 2024 navy lace gown. The bodice of the dress was lacy, but the skirt was detailed with a gauzy sheer organza fabric. She styled the dress with strappy sandals and one long pendant necklace.
Johnson's glam was just as pared-back but chic. She wore her hair straight and long, with her signature bangs resting on her forehead. The 34-year-old's glam consisted of fluttery black lashes with a bronzy tan shade of eyeshadow illuminating her eyes. She wore a flush of pink blush on her cheeks that paired well with her pink gloss.
To get Johnson's nail look at home, all you'll need is a beige polish. Butter London's Cotsworld Cottage shade is similar to Johnsons, as is O.P.I's Bleached Brows.
